What is FreedomPop?
FreedomPop is a wireless internet and cellular service provider. We offer affordable talk, text and data plans for our customers, starting from $0.00 per month!
How you'll use FreedomPop depends on the service you purchase from us, and the type of device you get. If you purchase a hotspot, you will sign up for a device and plan during checkout. The hotspot will arrive in the mail, and you can use it to connect any WiFi capable device to the internet (laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.). Our USB devices plug directly into your desktop or laptop computer, providing you with an internet connection.
If you purchase a phone from us, you will select a device and plan during checkout. Once this device arrives in the mail you will need to download our Messaging application, to begin using the service. Our cellular service is VoIP, which means you'll use a data connection to power your calls and texts. This technology is what allows us to provide such affordable, and reliable service!
We also offer SIM cards for GSM customers, that are using a GSM unlocked Android or iOS device. Please click here for a more detailed look at the products we offer.
How the service works
Our devices receive a signal from nearby network towers, that are powered by other, larger carriers. For example, for our CDMA products, we piggyback off of the Sprint network for a data connection. This ensures costs to our customers stay low, while maintaining the reliability and wide range of coverage, of larger carriers.
