Getting an international calling plan
We offer international calling with our Global Calling Plans, to over 50 countries. International texting is not yet available.
Make sure to download the FreedomPop Messaging (Android) or FreedomPop Free Talk and Text (iOS) application. Once you have selected a Global Calling plan (online at my.freedompop.com/international or through the app), you will be able to make outbound international calls using the app.
You can make an international call, in the same way that you would make a local call. Open up the FreedomPop Messaging application and tap on the dial pad to start. Then dial the number you would like to call, starting with the country code.
If you would like to receive calls from international numbers, the caller would need to have their own international calling plan. If they do not, we offer a service called the Global Virtual Number for $4.99 per month. This gives you a virtual phone number with an international area code, making the call a local one for friends and family overseas.
If you sign up for the Global Virtual Number and select Mexico, you will get a number with a Mexico area code. If someone in Mexico would like to call you, but they do not have an International Calling plan, they can call your Global Virtual Number. The call will be routed to your US FreedomPop phone number so you can receive it.
Our International Calling plan separates supported countries by landline numbers and mobile numbers. The following countries can be reached, whether the number is a landline or a mobile cell phone number:
Korea - South
China Peoples Republic
The following countries can be reached, as long as the number is a landline phone number:
US Virgin Islands
