The different SIM cards we offer
We offer two types of SIM cards: Talk, text and data SIMs built for cell phones, and Data-only SIM cards made for mobile hotspot devices.
If you purchased a Talk, Text, and Data SIM card (for phones)
You will need to use a GSM SIM-unlocked smartphone. If your phone is GSM unlocked, that means the phone can be used with any SIM card, from any carrier. Phones that are locked to a specific wireless carrier are unsupported. For more information about the difference between a locked phone and an unlocked phone, read this article.
Android phones must be running the operating system Android 4.1, or more recent, and iPhones must be updated to the operating system iOS 8.0, or more recent.
Unfortunately, Windows phones and BlackBerry phones are not supported. The phone manufacturer (Samsung, Blu, Sony, HTC, etc) does not matter. But if you find that your SIM works with some manufacturers, but not others, please contact us to report it.
If you purchased a Data-Only SIM card (for hotspots)
For data-only SIM cards, you will need to use a GSM unlocked hotspot device. There are no additional requirements for hotspots. If you do not own a hotspot to use with our LTE SIM cards, you can purchase one from us by going to our shop page.
Don't have a SIM card yet?
You can purchase a SIM card, to use with your own GSM unlocked device, or you can purchase one of our GSM phones (or GSM hotspots). Our GSM unlocked phones and hotspots come with the appropriate SIM card preinstalled.
