Before you start using your SIM card, you will have to activate it. You'll need the following things:
• An email address
• Your FreedomPop SIM and the package it came in
• A compatible phone - GSM unlocked Android (OS 4.1+) or iPhone (OS 8.0+)
Visit freedompop.com/activate. You will need to enter your SIM card’s ICCID number. It is printed on the package your SIM came in.
Enter your ICCID number and your email address. This information will be used to create your account. Then, enter your address and phone number.
After your SIM and personal information is submitted, your SIM will be activated and your account created. You can log into your account at any time to manage your billing or device information.
Visit my.freedompop.com to manage your account. You will need the email address you used to activate your SIM and the password that was emailed to you.
Managing your phone number
After activation, you will be able to select a free phone number for your account. If a preferred area code does not produce any phone numbers, unfortunately that area code is unavailable.
Even if you plan to port your existing phone number over from another carrier, you will still need a FreedomPop phone number first. This is a requirement for our system.
How to put your SIM card into your phone
First determine the size SIM card you need. Some phones accept a micro SIM or a mini SIM card size, however most modern smartphones require the smallest size - a nano sim. The FreedomPop SIM card package you purchased comes with all three sizes.
Next, check your phone to see if it has a removable back cover or not. If your device has a removable back cover, the SIM card slot is most likely located underneath it, as shown in the following picture of an LG G3 android phone.
If your device doesn't have a removable back cover, your SIM card slot is most likely located on the top or side of the device, on a SIM card tray. To pull the tray out, you will need to use a SIM removal tool or a paperclip.
Once the tray has been opened lay your SIM card on the tray, and then reinsert it. Restart your device after inserting the SIM.
Remember, service only works with a compatible GSM unlocked phone running android 4.1 or newer, or iPhone 8.0 or newer.
