Data-Only Hot Spot Data Issue

I have a Huawei E5573 hotspot connected via a data-only plan. Ever since changing from the "free" to the paid "essentials" plan, I have been experiencing unexplained data transfers. I have disconnected all devices from my hotspot router, but still experience bursts of data (three 2MB data transfers appeared on my data-transfer-usage-statement this morning, all occurring within a minute or two of each other). Can you explain what is going on??
