    Hello Esther!

Thanks for reaching out. We are a VoIP service provider. VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. Essentially, it means data, or the internet is used for calling and texting instead of the cellular network. However, please note, data used for calling and texting won't be deducted from the allotted data included in your base plan.

Data from your base plan will only be deducted when browsing the web, watching videos, using third-party apps that require data, etc. You may use the guide on this link to determine how much data you may be using, for different activities.

Let us know if you have any other questions, we'll be happy to help.

    Hello Esther,

Note that data is needed for calls & texts, but the app resets to zero for the usage. So, calling and texting does not USE UP your data. As long as you have some data remaining, you can make unlimited calls & texts.  If you should exhaust data and have top-up turned OFF, then the account suspends with calling and texting suspended with that. Or if FreedomPop cannot charge for a top-up then account suspends with a billing error. Put in a valid card number then billing can complete the top-up and account will un-suspend.
