I bought a data-only / hotspot SIM directly from FreedomPop. I inserted the SIM into my (non-FreedomPop) hotspot, and configured the APN and rebooted. The hotspot device indicated that the SIM was present, but not activated, and I never was able to get it to establish a cellular data connection. I went to freedompop.com/activate and attempted to enter my SIM's number, and was informed that the number was not correct and could not be activated. Very strange.
I am a pretty tech-savvy guy, but I absolutely could not get this to work. Would like assistance with this. On a more global scale, it seems from these forums like FreedomPop really needs to make improvements to its Byzantine activation process if this many people can't get it to work without resorting to technical support to get the job done.
