I use this hotspot very infrequently to toggle a smart plug at a remote location. It's been working okay for about a year and a half. The last I used it was probably a couple months ago. Nothing about the environment has changed since then.
I recently attempted to access the smart plug and it wasn't found. At the remote location, I noticed that the hotspot LED was blinking amber. I woke it up and there was an Alert which said
"Mobile Broadband Disconnected
You data connection is disconnected."
There was a Connect button, which I tapped. That went to a Status page which said
"You are currently disconnected from the mobile broadband network."
There was another Connect button, which I tapped.
I went through the steps in the GSM Hotspot Data Connection Troubleshooting article to no avail.
My smart plug and iDevices connect via Wi-Fi to the hotspot.
Power level is over 90 percent.
My account is not suspended to my knowledge. I have the Basic 200MB plan and the data balance was over 150MB.
I’ve reset the hotspot (10+ second power cycle) several times.
It’s a data-only SIM card that’s been working okay for a year and a half.
I checked the APN settings and they haven’t changed (Name: FreedomPop / APN: fp.com.attz).
I sent a tech support request to Customer Service on May 7th. Nothing heard yet, except for a confirmation email (request #30720).
I did a Factory Reset through the Settings menu on the hotspot. The Wi-Fi (SSID) and password were changed by the Factory Reset and noted. I had to reconfigure the APN settings as they were deleted.
The result was no change - still not connected to the data network.
