Using FreedomPop SIM number on OTT app when legacy VoIP plan is discontinued
CompletedI've received an e-mail urging me to upgrade from the free plan to Premium Voice, but I'm not interested in the new Premium Voice as it's too cumbersome to maintain, and the mobile data limit is so low I may as well not have any.
However, I would like to keep my number and the VoIP service for the convenience. I do not need true cellular voice, and being able to make calls over any network connection is a major plus. I've had times when I was out-of-country and that ability saved me.
Is it possible to use the OTT app (now named "Text Free & Call Free") after the legacy free plan is discontinued? If so, do I need to do anything (e.g. start a request to move to OTT now) to keep my number that I have on the SIM? I'm not worried about the data since I'm practically just going to lose it anyway.
