data used on my account but sim not in the phone

I am not  on the trip outside on USA and sim is not in the phone but account show data used on May 5 2021 how in the world this is possible, can you explain? Additionally when I am back in USA  what I need to do to have data sharing with my tablet. I am on 5GB plan and phone associated with this account is XXX-XXX-4190
